Thomas Roy Kimball, resident of Stillwater, passed on November 18, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Tom was born in Washington D.C. on June 27, 1949. His parents were Frank and Irene (Bennett) Kimball and they lived in Bethesda, Maryland until relocating to Stillwater in 1968. His maternal grandfather was William U. Bennett of Fairfax, Oklahoma who was killed in Oklahoma City on March 21, 1923, a victim of the Osage Reign of Terror. Tom attended local schools graduating from Maryland's Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS in 1967. At BCC he studied and played basketball. He then enrolled in the University of Cincinnati where he studied for 2 years before joining the U.S. Army in 1970 and in 1972 he was discharged from the service in Ravenna, Italy.
He returned to Oklahoma enrolling in the University of Oklahoma, Norman 1972 - 1974 majoring in Sociology. He then returned to Stillwater and worked a short time 1976 at the Mercury Marine on Perkins Road. For the past 40 years he lived in Stillwater and since 2001 maintained a residence on West 9th Ave. Tom enjoyed magic as a youngster and pool and golf in his middle years. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and playing Frisbee golf. Recently his favorite TV programs were on the travel channel. Tom was proud of his Osage Indian heritage and had an uncanny knack for trivia involving famous rock and roll singers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Monica Berry. He is survived by a brother Frank Bennett Kimball of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and by numerous nephews and nieces. The family thanks Grace Living center and Judith Karmon Hospice for support in his final days. His private burial will be in the Fairfax, Oklahoma Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
