Thelma Lucille Young, longtime resident of the Fairfax community, passed Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Fairfax Manor Nursing Home. She was 81 years of age.
Thelma was born January 20, 1930, the daughter of Iven C. Baldwin and Velma Mason Baldwin. She was married to J. Arthur Jake Young. At one time Thelma owned and operated the June Bug Gift Shop in Fairfax. Her enjoyments included her grandchildren as she was always involved in their activities.
She is survived by her two sons, Jay Young and John Young, both of Fairfax one brother, Carl Baldwin, Alamogordo, New Mexico two grandchildren, Melissa Kennedy of Ralston and B.J. Young of Fairfax three great great grandchildren, Jazman, Lola and Little Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents husband three sisters, Marge Montgomery, Juanita Rivers and Jean Benton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the First Assembly of God Church in Fairfax, with Pastor Jay Clapp presiding. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home.
Casket bearers are Mike Adams, King Bowman, Jeff Lockett, Sandy Parker, George Pease and Anthony Webb. Honorary casket bearers will be John Tallchief and George Tallchief
