Sue Driesel Thompson, former resident of Ponca City and Fairfax, passed Friday, October 23, 2009 in the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was 57 years of age. Sue was born March 19, 1952 in Ponca City, the daughter of Willard Driesel and Lois Dial Driesel. She was a graduate of Ponca City High School and then completed course work at Central State University in Education. She was an Art and English teacher and had taught school in Ponca City, Allen, Oklahoma and Fairfax. She had a love for Art and also enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting. She is survived by her three children, Jodi R. Thompson of Fairfax, and Jacob R. Thompson and J Mikel R. Thompson, both of Ponca City; her mother, Lois Driesel and her father, Willard Driesel; one brother, Wid Driesel of Broken Bow; niece Chris Jordan and nephew Bryan Driesel; many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Mary Driesel and her maternal grandparents, Oren and Fern Dial. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the First Christian Church of Fairfax with Rev. George Weston presiding. Interment will be in the Foraker, Oklahoma Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax. Casket bearers will be J Mikel R. Thompson, Jacob R. Thompson, Daniel Jordan, Jeff Tucker, Bryan Driesel and Ivan Koger.
