Steven W. Graham, longtime Fairfax resident passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Stillwater Hospital after battling kidney and heart problems for many years. He was 66 years old.
Born on November 16, 1950 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the son of Ralph and Mary Louise Graham.
Steve married Paula K. (Baughman) on January 19, 1973 in Ponca City OK. They made their first home in Ponca City, and had one daughter, Kelly, who completed their family.
Later in the 1980's, the family moved to Fairfax where they have lived for the last several years. Steve worked in the oilfields, working at the Fairfax Haliburton site for many years. He and Paula owned/operated the "June Bug" store at Fairfax in the early 90's.
His enjoyments included attending the school football, basketball games; fishing and hunting with the men in his family and Steve also had a "green thumb" spending time tending to his vegetable gardens and flowers. He always had a spare moment to stop and visit when he was out and about around town. He never met a stranger. He was a natural caregiver. Steve babysat his nephew, John Paul when he was a youngster. For the last several years of his life he assisted Paula with her at home daycare.
Steve leaves to treasure his memory his loving wife of 44 years, Paula of the home; daughter, Kelly and husband Bill Roberts and their children, Billie Roberts, Lillie Roberts and Darwin Yates, all of Fairfax. His siblings: brother, Dr. James and wife Darlene Graham of Fairfax; three sisters, Joyce Psikal of Newkirk, Beverly Wright of Ralston, and Linda Thompson, of Fairfax. Many nephews, nieces and other extended family members and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Fairfax City Cemetery, with Rev. George Weston, presiding. Burial will follow under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax, OK.
