Ruth Smith

Ruth "Lucille" Smith, lifelong resident of Fairfax, passed away at Tulsa on January 13, 2017.

Born November 29, 1932 in Fairfax, she loved bingo, gardening, reading cowboy books and going to church along with being with her daughter Julia.

Lucille worked for Fairfax Hospital for 15 years before she retired. While enjoying her retirement, she helped out at the Fairfax Senior Citizens up until her death.

She is survived by one daughter, Julia Smith of Fairfax; one brother, Charles "Eugene" Yandell and wife Madeline of Fairfax; son-in-law, Dennis McCeary of Ponca City; niece-in-law, Kaylynn Yandell of Fairfax. Four great nieces, Destinee Hunt and husband Ryan of Norman OK, Desiree Yandell of McPherson KS, Kylee Potter of Wichita KS and Koree Potter of Ponca City.

Lucille is preceded in death by one daughter, Christine McCeary; mother, Ovie Yandell; father, Charles Edward Yandell; three brothers, Wallace Yandell, Everett Yandell and Robbie Yandell; niece, Kara Potter; three nephews, Kevin Yandell, Keith Yandell and Kyle Yandell.

Graveside services will be held 2p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2016 at the Fairfax Cemetery Pavilion with the Full Gospel Assembly pastor, Lewis Bernard, presiding. Interment to follow under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

Casket bearers are Byron Staples, Clinton Staples, Roy Lee Wilson, Dennis McCeary, Ty Koch and Thomas Engle. Honorary casket bearer, Dr. James Graham.
