Roy Hutcheson

Roy Hutcheson, lifelong resident of Fairfax, passed Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home. He was 92 years of age.

Roy was born January 6, 1922 in Fairfax, the son of Wid Hutcheson and Ollie Kesner Hutcheson. He was married to Dorothy Marley on September 26, 1943 in the First Baptist Church in Fairfax. The couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last September. Roy owned and operated Hutcheson Auto Repair on North Main Street in Fairfax for many many years. He also was a past mayor of Fairfax and served over 20 years on the Fairfax Fire Department. He was a member of the Fairfax First United Methodist Church and his enjoyments included fishing, hunting, fish frys and of course his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home one daughter, Betty Covey and husband Chuck of Ponca City one son, Dennis Hutcheson and wife Theresa, of Fairfax one brother, Wayne Hutcheson of Sedalia, Missouri three grandchildren, Terri Hutcheson Gordon and husband Tony, of Ralston, Oklahoma, Larry Hutcheson of Fairfax and Debbie Covey and close friend Denny Farren, of Ponca City seven great grandchildren, Ben, Owen, Shelbi, Tyler, Gunnar, Tiffany and Will four great great grandchildren, Rian, Quinn, Kalon and Brayten special neighbors and fishing buddies Jason and Carter Rogers and their dog Sugar numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents one grandson, Brad Covey and his sisterinlaw, Vera Hutcheson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Fairfax Cemetery.
Presiding ministers will be Rev. Russell Hughes and Rev. George Weston. The family has asked that everyone dress casual. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

Casket bearers are Arnold Haney, Denny Farren, Jason Rogers, Carter Rogers, Carl Daley, Carl Hughes and Ted Hazelbaker.
