Ronald Parker

Ronald "Ron" Parker, 64, longtime resident of the Apperson, Oklahoma area went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019. He was born in Guymon, Okla. to Mary Ellen and Calvin Parker October 9th, 1954.

Ron was saved at the age of 19, spending many years teaching and bringing others to the Lord. He traveled to the Philippines, Haiti, Indian Reservation in Canada, Canada, as well as all over the U.S to minister. After moving to Ponca City, Okla. he met and married Mary Cursey who blessed him with three children, Jason Parker, Elizabeth Eilrich, and Lydia McWithey. In 1989, he married Shawna Pugh, becoming a Father to her three children, Daniel Harlow, Nathan Harlow, and Jessica Reed. They were married for 28 years before she passed in 2016.

He spent his days working in the ministry as well as a residential carpenter among many occupations. His passion for the Lord shined out in his music. He loved spending time with friends, family and cherishing all of the time he had with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Jason Parker, Elizabeth Eilrich and husband Trevor, Lydia McWithey and husband Troy, Daniel and wife Kristen Harlow, Nathan and wife Elizabeth Harlow, all of Ponca City, and Jessica Reed, of Burbank. As well as his mother, Mary Ellen Parker of Shidler; brother Edwin Parker, sister Gay Swenson both of Shidler and sister Mira Jones and husband Denny of Cincinnati, Ohio. 10 grandchildren: Jordan, Isaiah, Dreamin, Teagon, Breanna, Ryse, Vincent, Chloe, Olivia, and Daxton. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ron is preceded in passing by his beloved wife of 28 years, Shawna; father Calvin Parker; sister Debra Blackwell; sister Pamela Grass and brother-in-law Wayne Grass; nieces, Paula Blackwell, Gayla Blackwell, Kelly Shoptese, and Terri Grass.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Webb City Church of God in Webb City, Okla. with Pastor Don Reed officiating. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest at the Burbank Cemetery next to his wife, Shawna Parker.

Casket bearers are Jake Smith, Daniel Harlow, Nathan Harlow, Harold Roberts, William Leonard, and Denny Jones. Honorary casket bearer is Jason Parker.
