Richard Dean Dummer

Memorial services were held in Fairfax on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 for the late Richard Dummer. Richard passed away on Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at Saint Francis hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Born September 10, 1964, Rick was the son of Henry and Louann Mcguire. He went to grade school in Hominy, then attended middle school in Ralston. He later went to Fairfax High School, where he graduated and was a superb football player. He went on to Haskell College and played football there for a short time.

On April 17, 1987, Rick had a son, Kent Dummer, with Kelly Roberts. He said it was the best day of his life. Richard was good at many things, but he always said his happiest time was working for Colonel Oilfield in Burbank. He was also a carpenter for Conoco. While working in the oilfields, he met the love of his life and his saving grace, Karen Sterling Dummer. They were married in 1996 in Miami, Oklahoma.

In his spare time, Rick enjoyed spending time with his son and friends, whom he loved dearly. He liked hunting and fishing and frog gigging and just being outdoors. He was very proud of his Native American heritage and incorporated it in his everyday life as much as possible.

Rick is survived by his son, Kent his twin brother, Ron Dummer his Aunt Lene of Hominy and many nieces, nephews and distant relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Louann Hopper his wife, Karen Sterling Dummer and his grandparents.

Honorary pall bearers were Terry Moore, Cody Shorb, Jimmy Grigg, Jeff Lunsford, Harley Smith, Greg Moon, George Robertson and Dusty Roach.

I will carry out great vengeance and punish them with my wrath. They will know my name is the Lord when I take my vengeance on them.
