Phyllis Roberts began her journey to heaven on Monday morning, December 2, 2019 at the age of 68. She was at her home in Burbank, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis Marie (Taylor) Roberts was born at the Hamil Hospital in Fairfax, Okla. on Sunday, March 18, 1951 to parents Theodore Aaron Taylor and Marie Lee Dooling Taylor-Carter. Growing up she attended Fairfax Public Schools.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth Roberts, on Friday, November 27, 1970 in Fairfax. The couple made their first home in Fairfax where they stayed for a year before moving to Burbank. Their marriage of 49 years was blessed with two wonderful children, Timothy and Christi.
Phyllis worked at the Albertson warehouse in Ponca City. A job she held for many years until her retirement.
She was an amazing wife, mom, daughter, sister, and grandmother. A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Burbank where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In recent years, her biggest pastime was being involved and devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Loved ones greeting Phyllis in heaven include her parents; one son Tim Roberts; and one brother, Tommy Taylor.
In addition to her longtime husband, Kenneth of the home, Phyllis is survived by her daughter Christi (Aaron) Ray of Shidler; three grandchildren, Katie (Brandon) Emrick of Ohio, Junior Ray and Jesse Ray both of Shidler; great-grandchildren Haydon, Kye, Braylin; two brothers, Danny Hazen of Cleveland, and Charlie Taylor of Sand Springs; a sister, Loretta Baird of Sand Springs; plus many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 6 at the First Baptist Church in Burbank, Okla. with Pastor Dennis Wildman presiding. Burial will immediately follow at Burbank Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax, Okla.
Casket bearers are Alan Kuykendall, Jackie Culp, Kevin Roberts, Chris Sherrill, David Bergman, and Mike Roberts.
Phyllis was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.
