On the evening of March 21, 2023, Patricia “Patty” Marie McKinney, passed away at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She was 69 years old..Patty was born September 27, 1953, to William “Bill” Davis and Norma Cox-Davis in Pawnee, Oklahoma.  She lived in Fairfax, Oklahoma where she raised her five children.

Patty worked at the Fairfax Manor Nursing Home in Fairfax, Oklahoma as a Laundry Supervisor for many years.  When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed collecting Betty Boop items, reading, and watching old television shows such as Little House on the Prairie and the Waltons.

She was known for her great cooking and was often asked to cook for Osage cultural dinners.  Her fry bread was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.  Family was very important to Patty, and she loved holidays for the chance to have all her children and grandchildren together for a big meal.  Pictures were always a must for her every year at the family Christmas dinner.

Patty was a truly compassionate and caring woman whose impact will be forever felt by her family and friends.  Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all her loved ones.  Her ability to love and help others will never be forgotten.

Patty is survived by her children, Vicki Looney (Ron), Carrie Rogers (Jason), and Jason McKinney & significant other, Hannah Looney. She is also survived by her grandchildren Thomas Looney (Farrin) of Ralston, Oklahoma, Brandon Looney & significant other Bryan Edwards of Edmond, Oklahoma; Tashina Looney & significant other Mark Brown of Fairfax, Oklahoma; Bridget Rogers& significant other Shelby Gilstrap of Edmond, Oklahoma; Carter Rogers of Durango, Colorado, Michael Dilbeck of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Kelsie Kennedy of Hominy, Oklahoma, Blake Kennedy & significant other Laramie Freeman of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Gage McKinney of London, Connecticut; Lucian, Dominic, Alexie, and Legend McKinney all of Fairfax, Oklahoma.  She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Patty also leaves behind three sisters, Genevieve “Birdie McKinley of Alva, Oklahoma; Frances Robertson (Billy) of Fairfax, Oklahoma and Willie Davis of Fairfax, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Bill Davis and Norma Davis, two sisters, Billie Pollard and Gladys Turner, one daughter Penny Looney, one son Theodore “Teddy McKinney, three grandsons, Billy McKinney, Jacob Looney and Tristan Rogers.

Patty will lie in state at the Grayhorse Community Building from Thursday, March 23, 2023, until Sunday, March 26, 2023.

A Native American Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Grayhorse Community Building followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be at the Fairfax Cemetery followed by a traditional Osage meal at the Grayhorse Community Building. Services will be officiated by Taos Barrone and John Shaw.

Pall bearers are Harold McKinley, Billy Robertson, Thomas Looney, Anthony Davis, Willie “Sonny” McKinley, and Bud McKinney.  Honorary pall bearers are Caleb Kennedy, Gilbert Kennedy, Chantry Kennedy, Brandon Looney, Blake Kennedy, Carter Rogers, Gage McKinney, Lucian McKinney, and Dominic McKinney,
