Neda Olive Elliott, longtime resident of Fairfax, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Fairfax Nursing Home. She was 83 years of age.
Neda was born October 5, 1928 at Boger Holler, Arkansas, the daughter of Lytle Hilderbrand and Bertha Miranda Freeman Hilderbrand. Her early schooling was in the Dover, Arkansas area schools, later completing her GED and nursing course work. She became a Certified Medication Aid and had worked several years at the Fairfax Nursing Home and Fairfax Hospital.
Neda moved to the Fairfax Community in 1972. She was married to Claude Elliott on September 5, 1975 at Wilburton, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and her enjoyments included cooking for her family, gardening, crocheting, quilt making, canning and watching old movies. Neda helped raise several children that included her three grandsons when she lost her son William.
She is survived by her two daughters, Faye Dotson and husband, Joey, of Fairfax, and Melinda Dixon and husband, Ron, of Medford, Oklahoma 7 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Claude, in 1980 her son William Odell Nutt in 1979 four brothers, Bill, Joe, Oliver and Charley three sisters, Nancy, Marilyn Florence and Myrtle.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the New Hope Christian Fellowship in Fairfax with Pastor Bill Bray presiding. Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Kevin Davis, Travis Davis, Thomas Pilcher, Ray Harper and Henry Cook.
