She grew up and attended school in the Grayhorse, Burbank, and Ralston areas. During those years she developed a great love for the sport of basketball. This love for the sport was passed on to her two daughters. She was a devoted mother and supporter who never missed a game regardless of how far she had to travel.
Minnie married the love of her life, Clayton, on July 1, 1952. They were able to celebrate 63 years of marriage in the Ralston and Fairfax areas. They were blessed with two daughters, Vonda and Brenda. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. She was always willing to do whatever was asked of her to help her family. She was the best babysitter ever and completely adored her grandchildren. They spent many happy days and nights with their loving grandparents romping and playing at the farm. She didn’t stop there but continued to love and care for great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Through the years Minnie worked at many jobs. Several years were spent working in factories alongside her sister, Esther. One of her favorite jobs was being a Tupperware consultant and unit manager. This job allowed her to travel and meet many many people, some of whom became life-long friends. The last job she had outside the home was Head Cook at the Woodland Middle School in Ralston. She took great pride in serving great tasting meals to all the teachers and students. She was known for her huge hot rolls and cinnamon rolls. Everyone looked forward to the days they were served.
Minnie is survived by her two daughters, Vonda Vinson Hawkins and husband Dale of Ralston and Brenda Vinson Broughton and husband Steve of Ralston. She has five grandchildren, Melissa Villademoro, Michael Rice, Kylie Cunningham, Alicia Endl, and Tug Broughton. She has 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great granddaughters all of which live in this area. She has one living sister, Esther Stone of Ralston and two brothers Ed Beaston of Stilwell and Dan Beaston of Ponca City.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Vinson, parents Charlie and Ethel Beaston, sister Stella Whitecotton, brothers Harmon Beaston, Charlie John Jr. (Kye) Beaston, John Beaston, and Sam Beaston, and great great granddaughter Sophia Grace Bondoc.
