Michael Dean Widener Jr. resident of Stillwater and former resident of the Ralston and Fairfax communities, passed away Thursday September 16, 2010 as a result of an automobile accident. He was 28 years of age.

Michael was born June 28, 1982 in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Michael Dean Widener and Cheryl Ann Troutman Widener. He attended schools at Ralston, Woodland and Pawnee prior to graduating from Glencoe High School in 2001. He completed Auto Mechanic Tech School training at the Meridian Tech Center in Stillwater where he was named outstanding student and was also a scholarship recipient.

He was a member of the Ralston First Baptist Church where he taught the Adult Sunday School Class and was also on the ground committee of the church. His enjoyments included working on cars, reading car magazines, following the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball team and the Oklahoma Sooner football team.

He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Widener of Stillwater his sister, Crystal Gayle Widener, Stillwater Paternal grandmother Mary Lou Widener, of Ralston Maternal grandfather, Herman Troutman, of Midwest City, Oklahoma a niece, Mychal Lynn McKinney, Stillwater uncle Everett Widener and wife, Sandy, of Ralston cousin Tara Porter, of Ralston great uncle and aunt, Sonny and Martha Dearing, Moore, Oklahoma great aunt, Martha Kay Spann, Tulsa, Oklahoma 2nd cousins, Levi and Landon Porter, of Ralston.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Dean Widener his paternal grandfather, Everett Virgil Widener Sr. his maternal grandparents, Bob and Joanne McLemore two cousins, Diana Lynn Widener and Shannon Widener maternal great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Dearing.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Ralston First Baptist Church with Pastor Darrel Mote presiding. Interment will follow in the Dixie Bear Creek Cemetery Southeast of Cleveland, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

Casket bearers will be Pierre McKinney, Tyler Rice, K.C. Porter, John Hutchison,
Rick Rice and Josh Clark. Honorary casket bearers are members his Adult Sunday school Class, Lou Brock, Mark Myers, Harvey Myers, Jim Brooks, Jim Hutchison and Ed Gates.
