Mary was born in Pawhuska on December 17, 1925 the oldest child of Walter Frank Parks and Josephine (Sears) Parks. Growing up, she had attended numerous schools before the family moved to Shidler where she graduated High School in 1945.
On February 2, 1945 she married her classmate Calvin Parker in Pawhuska. Their marriage of 66 years lasted until Calvin’s passing in 2011. Following his military service in early 1947 they moved to Hobbs, New Mexico later relocating to Kansas and then Guymon, Okla. Mary worked in the School Cafeteria at Guymon while they lived there. In 1990 they returned to their roots in Webb City.
As a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Guymon and later the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Fairfax, she shared her love for Jesus teaching Sunday School. Mary especially enjoyed lavishing her love on her family and spoiling her grandkids. She found joy in gardening, working in the yard, and her greatest joy was reading her Bible daily.
