Margie D. Ferguson, resident of Fairfax, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Fairfax Hospital. She was 77 years of age.

Margie Deloris Rameriz was born September 23, 1934 in Curtis, Oklahoma, the daughter of Malissio and Cecilia Rameriz. She grew up in Woodward, Oklahoma where she attended elementary and high school, graduating from Woodward High School in 1952.

She was married to Gerald Ferguson on September 4, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico, making their first home in Freedom, Oklahoma. The couple lived in various locations in Oklahoma before returning to Burbank in 1972. The couple moved to Fairfax in 2000.

In earlier years Margie worked as a secretary for her brotherinlaw and sisterinlaw in their cement company business. She was a bus driver for the Burbank School for several years. She also had worked as a field clerk for Standard Industries at the Burbank and Washunga Bay Rock Quarries. Margie retired in 1988. She volunteered for the Osage Nation Head Start for many years where she was known as Granny Marge to everyone. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and attending events of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald, of the home seven children, Debbie Ferguson and husband, Mick of Freedom, Oklahoma, son Marty Ferguson of Medford, Oklahoma, Amber Townsend and husband, Dennis, of Martinez, Georgia, Gidget Moore and husband, Terry, of Burbank, Oklahoma, daughter Nikki Quattlebaum of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Casey Tucker and husband, Jeff, of Fairfax and Dusty Rice and husband, Joe, also of Fairfax 16 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren with twin great granddaughters on the way. She also leaves behind special friends David and Terry Hazen of Fairfax. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Buddy Rameriz.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Fairfax with New Hope Christian Fellowship Pastor Bill Bray presiding, assisted by Rev. George Weston. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
