Lucille York, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023, in Owasso, Oklahoma. She was born Lucille Elsberry on May 17, 1932, in Havana, Arkansas. She was known for her kind heart, devotion to family, and her many interests and hobbies.
She attended school in Fairfax, Oklahoma. During her time at school in Fairfax, she proudly represented the Red Devil Marching Band as a talented flute player. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Frank York. They were married during Lucille's senior year of high school and shared a remarkable 64 years of marriage.
Family was at the center of Lucille's life. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. One of her favorite activities was playing computer games with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and joy. Lucille loved genealogy and would spend much of her time on ancestry.com. She also had a love for Roy Rogers.
Lucille leaves behind a cherished family who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. She is survived by her loving children: Linda and husband John Kaiser of Pawhuska; Ken and wife Marria York of Ponca City; Darrin and wife Caryn York of Savannah, Georgia; Jean York of Owasso; Dean and wife Debbie York of Moore; Ginger York-Gray of Shidler. Lucille's memory will also be carried on by her dear grandchildren: Wendy and husband Norris Williams; Harry and wife Amber York; Terry York; Ryan and wife Christina York; Cheryl and husband Brad Pearson; Sean and wife Sunnie York; Nathan and wife Nicole York. Her great-grandchildren, Corey, Shaely, Addison, McKenzie, Chloe, Harper, Syrena, Shayla, Jaxon, Brandon, as well as great-great-grandchildren Derrin, Summer, Donnel, Huck, Hank, Haze, Sadie, and Millie will also forever hold her in their hearts.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Frank; her son Larry; a great-granddaughter Cassie; and her siblings: Wendell Elsberry, RG Elsberry, Huey Elsberry, Alfred Elsberry, Jim Elsberry, and Foy Murray.
To honor Lucille's life and celebrate the memories she left behind with her family and friends, visitation services will take place on July 20th at the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
