Louise Stone

Louise Stone, longtime Shidler community resident, passed Thursday, August 4, 2011 at her home. She was 88 years of age.

Louise was born March 8, 1923 in Columbus, Mississippi, the daughter of William Hartsell and Leo Gupton Hartsell. She was a graduate of Greenville, Mississippi High School. She was married to L.G. Stone in May of 1947 in Greenville. The couple had been married 64 years. Louise was a longtime member of the Shidler United Methodist Church and the UMW organization. She was known for her long time care in providing and arranging flowers at the church. She loved taking care of her husband, Pinky, working with flowers, sewing and in earlier years making beautiful pioneer style bonnets for her mother.

Louise is survived by her husband, L.G. Pinky Stone one son Terry Stone, of Shidler one sister, Mary Adams of Fairbanks, Alaska 2 grandsons, Anthony Harrigle and Reno Stone other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Shidler United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Moody presiding. Committal services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 6th at the Tecumseh, Oklahoma Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

Casket bearers will be Anthony Harrigle, Ray Ratliff, Moose Robinson, Danny Alexander, Ben Owens and Dean Crain. Honorary casket bearer will be Neal McConaghy.
