Katherine Lee Brown, longtime Ralston, Oklahoma resident departed from this life at her home on Thursday, September 19, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at 84 years, 2 months and 5 days young.
She entered this world on Saturday July 13, 1940, to proud parents Bessie Lee (Linville) and Mart Ellis Thomas in Wynona, Oklahoma. One of eleven children Katherine attended school at Mound Valley and later attended Warr Acres Beauty Academy for cosmetology.
On April 12, 1972, she married Billy Ray Brown in Fairfax. The couple made their home in Ralston. Katherine began working in the Ralston Public Schools cafeteria as a cook. When the schools consolidated, she remained cooking at the new Woodland School. After over 25 years of dedicated service, she retired in 2000. The couple were blessed to spend 41 years together before Bill’s passing in May 2013.
In her spare time Katherine enjoyed spoiling the grandkids, cooking for her family, sewing and watching her soap operas. She belonged to the First Baptist Church in Ralston and was a resolute member for years.
Today she is survived by two children Mart (Sandra) Lively of OKC and Wendy Lively of Fairfax; six grandchildren Kasey (Jacob) Jennings-Ralston, Zachariah (Bethany) Maker-Skiatook, Daniel (Stacy) Maker-Alamosa, Colo., Corey (Ashley) Maker-Wynona, Shauna (Cannon) Chambless- Duncan and Robyn Dendy-Checotah; 17 great grandchildren Hannah, Aaron, Elizabeth, Emily, Dalton, Dillon, Shayla, Miley, Katelyn, Carol, Jane, Walker, Taylor, Bryce, Landon, Conner and Abigail; 2 great-great grandchildren Blakely and Mckinley; 2 siblings Frances Coffman-Dewey and Tommy Thomas-Bartlesville plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Brown, her daughter Sherri Dawn Ratliff, four brothers and four sisters.
A Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2024, at the First Christian Church, Fairfax with Pastor Russ Hughes officiating. Pallbearers include Aaron Gray, Zach Maker, Corey Maker and Jacob Jennings.
Memorial contributions in Katherine’s honor may be made to the First Christian Church, 160 N 4th Street, Fairfax OK 74637.
