Joyce Batschelett

Joyce Alice Batschelett, resident of Fairfax, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

Joyce was born on December 19, 1928, to Edward and Annie (Kesner) Batschelett at the family home in rural Fairfax, Okla. She was the oldest child followed by Jean, Charles, and Joan. She graduated from Fairfax High School and made her home at the family farm.

While Joyce never married, she was a mother figure to all of her nieces and nephews and in her later years to her great nieces and nephews. Everybody loved Aunt Joyce and going on long walks with her at the farm. She always had time to listen and loved to visit.

Joyce was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfax where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved her family and community, and she will be truly missed.

Joyce is survived by her brother, Charles Batschelett and wife Sandy and her sister, Joan (Batschelett) Paslay and husband Bobby all of Fairfax. Nieces and Nephews, Pam Wilson and Randy Wilson of Fairfax; Greg and Becky Batschelett of Bristow; Ken and Marcie Batschelett, and Christi and PJ Mays of Ponca City; Valorie and Mark Crumley of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Michelle Brown of Austin, Texas; Terri Irons, Jackie and George Pease, and Mark and Kim Paslay of Fairfax; Preston and Halli Paslay of Ponca City; and many great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jean Wilson, and niece Sharon Early.

There will be a graveside service open to all family and friends Saturday, September 22nd at 10 a.m. at Fairfax City Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Joyce's nephews, Greg and Ken Batschelett, Randy Wilson, and Mark and Preston Paslay.

Viewing will be Thursday afternoon and Friday 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.
