Josie Gertrude Myers Hundley born June 21,1924, to Ervin Earl Myers and Charlotte Rachel Gibson Myers in Beeville, Texas, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 03,2017 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family.
She was one of three daughters, attended and graduated from Patterson in 1943. She met and married the love of her life James Garfield "J.G." Hundley on June 03,1944. After JG was discharged from the Navy they moved to Oklahoma and raised their four daughters in rural Fairfax.
Josie was a stay at home mom, attended the Fairfax Assembly of God church. She helped with Woogies Friday outreach at New Hope feeding the shutins. She helped make meat pies that helped pay for the Assembly of God church.
Josie leaves behind her husband, JG, of the home, daughters JoAnne Ferguson, Fairfax, Jerry Sue And Jim Spruill, Canute,Ok, Janette and Lue Ellison, Fairfax, Jeanne and Waymond White, Copan. Grandchildren, Jeana Spruill White, Jerry Spruill, Sonya Ellison Shull, Tonya Ellison, Andrea White Hunter, Aaron White, 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Helen Sasseen, Theo Wurth and grandson John Spruill.
Memorial service will be held Saturday January 7,2017 at New Hope Christian Fellowship, Fairfax with Rev Ronnie Smith officiating assisted by Rev. Waymond White.
