Jonnie Davis

Jonnie Audrey Davis, age 90, passed Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Jonnie was born November 7, 1923 in Crane, Missouri, the daughter of John Allen Lewis and Ola Mildred Whitmire Lewis. She married John Russell Davis on August 11, 1945 in Sedan, Kansas. This union was blessed with three sons, Ronald, Timothy and Ben Davis, and a daughter, Jennifer Davis.

During her career as an educator, Jonnie touched the lives of many. She taught at Shidler Public Schools for nineteen years, and helped many who did not graduate high school to earn their GEDs. She moved from Shidler to Stillwater in 1995 and later made her home in Fairfax in 1998. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Jonnie is survived by her sons, Ronald Davis and wife, Judy, of Shidler, Timothy Davis, also of Shidler, Ben Davis and wife, Chandra, of Stillwater five grandchildren, Bobby Davis, Russell Davis, Jennifer Hall, Kyle Davis and Kayla Davis several great grandchildren and other more distant relatives and friends too numerous to mention here.

She was preceded in death by her parents husband, John daughter, Jennifer Davis brother, Leo L. Lewis and seven sisters, Lillian Stark of Durant, Oklahoma, Grace Ford of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Alta Owens of Cape Fair, Missouri, Pauline Lytle, of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Pearl Bennett of Crane, Missouri, Thelma OBanion of Turley, Oklahoma, and Bea OBanion of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Fairfax Cemetery. Rev. George Weston will officiate.
