Joan Ehler, longtime resident of Fairfax, passed away , after a brief illness, Saturday morning , March 17, 2012, surrounded by her family, at St. Frances Hospital in Tulsa. She was 78.
Joan was born November 21, 1933 in Fairfax, the daughter of Charles Cecil Williams and Clelis Chloe Miller Williams. She was raised in the FairfaxPonca City area and attended Ponca City High School. Joan married Chuck Ehler on February 15, 1963 in Fairfax. OK and they established their home in the Fairfax area. In earlier days, Joan was a true farmerranchers wife, working hard with Chuck on their home place at Middle Enterprise. Eventually, they became involved in the quarter horse business, which they both enjoyed. Joan loved and honored Chuck, her husband of 44 years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grand children . She also loved her little dog, Abby, who was her special little friend and companion
She was a member of the First Christian Church, The F un Club, Fairfax Study Club, Do Bees OHCE Club, Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed eating and visiting at the Fairfax Senior Citizens, where she also helped work on the Memorial Day flowers each year.
She is survived by 4 children Sue Adams and husband Charlie of Woodward, Mike Wilson and wife Cindy of Ponca City, Kathy Hodges and husband David of Flower Mound, TX and Rick Ehler and wife Carleta of Fairfax, OK, Grandchildren, Michael Adams, Jason Adams, Coopy Adams, Zack Wilson, Beth Ann Bromagen, Terry Ehler, Leah Ehler, Lacie Ehler, H.B. Bishop, Brooklyn Bishop, D. Hodges, and Holston Hodges. Also eight Great Grandchildren. two brothers Sonny Williams and wife Marcia of McPherson, Kansa s and Jake Williams and wife Joan of Ponca City, brother in law and sister inlaw Wade and Erlene Ehler. Of Granbury, TX. She was preceded in death by her, parents, husband and one brother Bob Williams and sisterinlaw Louise Williams.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 00 P. M. Tuesday March 20, 2012 at The First Christian Church of Fairfax with Rev. George Weston , presiding. Interment will be at the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of HunsakerWooten Funeral Home.
Casket bears will be sons, sons inlaw and grandsons: Mike Wilson, Rick Ehler, Charlie Adams, David Hodges, Michael Adams and Terry Ehler. Honorary Casket casket bearers will be Jason Adams, Coopy Adams, Zach Wilson, John Miller , Chuck Hall, and John Coburn.
