Jerry Evatt

April 29, 1940 — March 24, 2016

Jerry Evatt, longtime Ralston resident passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 75 years of age. He was born April 29, 1940 in Craig, Colorado to Garland and Yvonne Evatt.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Johan M. Parks, Retired Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfax City Cemetery under the direction of Hunsaker - Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax, OK.
Jerry graduated from Ralston High School, where he exceled at basketball. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M where he developed a love of flying. He obtained his pilot's license and owned several planes, eventually building some himself. He married Carol Welker and they had four children. Jerry was a hardworking farmer who also had a passion for inventing and building. He grew many crops, but was known for his watermelons and vegetables. For the last several years of his life, he and Mary enjoyed sharing their produce at the Farmer's Market.
Survivors include: Mother, Yvonne Evatt of Checotah, OK. Sons, Ward Evatt and wife Gretchen of Pawnee, OK. Kent Evatt and wife Becky of Enid, OK. Daughters, Donna Barden and husband Russell of Ponca City, OK. Jerri Lynn Seale and husband Sam of College Station, TX. Sisters, Melody Parks and husband Johan of Stockton, CA. Ann Villines and husband Bill of Checotah, OK. Ten grandchildren, Dustin Barden and wife Merri, Rudonna Bailey and husband Irby, Brooke Barden, Haden Evatt, Lily Evatt, Samuel Seale, Paige Seale, Holly Evatt, Bree Evatt and Jay Evatt. Three great grandchildren, Lauren Bailey, Ben Bailey, and Lucy Barden. Also, surviving is his partner, Mary Fletcher of Ponca City, OK.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, and brother, Jimmy Evatt.
