J.D. Harrison, Jr.

J. D. Harrison, Jr., lifelong resident of the Fairfax area, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home. He was 66.

J.D. was born August 31, 1946 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of Jake Don Harrison and Virginia Berry. In high school, he excelled as a quarterback before going on to Oklahoma State University to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics. While there, he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He was also a member of the National Guard, serving six months active duty during the Vietnam era.

J.D.s enjoyments included OSU football and reading. He was a history buff, collected newspapers loved his cattle ranching and music. He was a Beatles enthusiast and played drums in a band.

J.D. is survived by his companion, Jan Banning of Pawnee daughter, Holly Bair and husband, Wade, of Stillwater brother, J. Berry Harrison and wife, Jackie, of Fairfax brothersinlaw, George David Eubank of Ponca City and Tom Covington of Fairfax grandson, Jake Elliott Bair
nieces and nephews, Berry Harrison, Jr., Tracie Harrison, Jeff Eubank, David Eubank, Paige Covington and Dru Halverson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Edwina Covington, and Virginia Ann Eubank.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Fairfax. Richard Ayers, Pastor, will officiate..
