Irene Jones

Irene Jones, resident of Burbank, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at her home. She was 88.

Irene was born June 21, 1922 in Ralston, Oklahoma, the daughter of John William McKinney and Hettie Woods McKinney. She grew up in Ralston and married Floyd Jones on September 2, 1939 in Fairfax. Irene moved to California where she lived for 25 years until moving back to the Fairfax area in 1977.

Irene enjoyed quilting, embroidery and made her childrens clothing lovingly by hand.

She could also make the best pot of beans in the world. Irene liked flowers and the simple joys of life, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Patsy Irene Nephew and husband, Rodney, of Burbank, Floyd Edward Jones and wife, Betty, of Marietta, Georgia, Doris Faye Kendrick and husband, Lloyd, of Fairfax and Gary Steven Jones and wife, Cindi, of Ponca City 11 grandchildren, Steven Nephew, Buffalo, Wyoming, David Nephew, Burbank, Michael Nephew, Ponca City, Brandon Jones of California, Connie Burtrum of Fairfax, Jeff Boitel, Rose Hill, Kansas, Carol Boitel, Stillwater, Chip Boitel, Missouri, Kansas, Jason Jones, Ponca City, Stephanie Tattershall, Ponca City and Adam Jones of Ponca City 23 great grandchildren, Whitney Moseley, Marcy Graham, Jessica Glory, Robin King, Rodney Nephew, Kimberly Nephew, Micheal Nephew, Erica Nephew, Kayla Ritter, Nathan Ritter, Brandon Ritter, Jacob Martin, Kelsie Boitel, Arie Boitel, Cody Boitel, Mariah Boitel, Shelby Nephew, Austin Nephew, Ashleigh Jones, Piper Jones, Isabella Jones and Hunter Beau Tattershall four great great grandchildren, Ben Lockett, Jackson Graham, Steven Ryan Nephew King and Annabelle King.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband in 1994 infant son in 1940 three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Holt presiding. Interment will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Adams Jones, Jeff Boitel, Nathan Ritter, Michael Edward Nephew, Micheal Nephew and Jason Jones. Honorary casket bearers will be Marshall Nephew, David Nephew, Doug Burtrum, Brandon Ritter and Nolan Tattershall.
