Bobby Fodge Gene Hopper, resident of Ralston, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 79.
Fodge was born the son of Ruben Wayne Hopper and Velma Jones Hopper on September 15, 1930 in Sunny Slope near Ralston, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Army and faithfully served until his honorable discharge in 1955. Fodge was owner and operator of feed stores in Fairfax, Ralston and Hominy. He later drove the bus for Woodland Schools for 22 years.
He was married to Norma Grimm on January 26, 1958 in Fairfax, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Ralston. Fodge enjoyed fishing, telling jokes and playing card games. Another hobby included buying and then selling things at the gift shop, but his main passion was playing the guitar. He was well known for his music and was a member of several country and western bands. He was a volunteer fireman for several years and active in the American Legion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma of the home daughter, Teresa Hopper Father, Ruben W. Hopper three brothers, Bill Hopper, Ronald Hopper and Tom Hopper sister, AnnaLee Serrato several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Velma Hopper son, Travis Hopper brothers, R.H. Hopper, Randall Hopper, Charlie Hopper, Dean Hopper and two infant brothers and one sister, Wanda Hosie.
Casket bearers for the service will be Bill Hopper, Ron Hopper, Tom Hopper, Daryl Chip Hopper, Marty Taylor and Jeryl Bevill.
Honorary bearers will be Gary Morris, Roy Grimm, Mike Bartlett, Gary Moon and Tim Dilbeck.
The graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Riverside Cemetery in Ralston under the direction of HunsakerWooten Funeral Home. The Rev. George Weston will officiate.
