Elizabeth Summers

Elizabeth Jane Betty Summers, resident of Fairfax, passed Wednesday morning, October 7, 2009 at her home. She was 68 years of age. Betty was born August 27, 1941 at Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Vern Evan Williams and Ruby Amelia Weir Williams. After high school Betty entered the United States Navy. After her tour of service she attended college at San Antonio, Texas and then completed a nursing program in Ozark, Arkansas. Betty was wed to William Clayton McConnell in May of 1963. Betty had retired as a practical nurse from the Fairfax Manor Nursing Center. Her enjoyments were visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her two sons, Robert McConnell and wife, Kelley, and Larry McConnell and wife, Melinnda, all of Ponca City; two brothers, Donald Williams, San Antonio, Texas and Richard Williams of Akron, Ohio; one sister, Lois Lujan, Taos, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Kelly Gilbert, Nathaneal Parrish, Apryl McConnell, Sarai Parrish and Carlie Parrish; two great grandchildren, Landen Gilbert and Cole Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one grandson, Larry Ray McConnell Jr. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
