Donald “Dude” Sharp left this world heaven bound on the last truck out early Wednesday morning, July 7, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer. He departed peacefully from his home in Ralston, Oklahoma at the age of 66.
He was born Donald Eugene Sharp, Jr. on Friday, July 30, 1954 in Pawnee, Okla. son of Donald Eugene Sharp, Sr. and Helen Wanitta (Smith) Sharp-Patton. At home, he was raised with seven siblings, having lived most of his life in Pawnee and Osage counties. Dude, as he was fondly known as, attended Fairfax Public Schools.
Donald met and married the love of his life Darla McInturf on Friday, December 13, 1974 in Fairfax where they embarked on their 46-year journey together. They were blessed with three children Marc, Russell, and Kristen. Having raised their children, the couple eventually made Ralston their home.
Dude was a hard worker and supported his family with all his strength and love. He had been employed with D&P Tank since 1988 only recently retiring in June this year. He drove many miles daily during the week, and often on Saturdays and Sundays when needed.
An avid outdoorsman from an early age, Dude could be found in his spare time fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying wrestling or a John Wayne movie on TV. Some of his favorite times out were spending the day with his family, especially in later years watching his grandchildren in their activities.
