Dave Rogers

Dave Rogers, longtime Ralston resident passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 67 years of age. He was born February 2, 1950 in Pawhuska Oklahoma to Walter and Edna Lea (Harris) Rogers.

A Memorial Service will be held 2p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the First Osage Baptist Church in Fairfax, OK with Pastor Kyle Rhodes, officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery at Ralston, OK under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax, OK.

Dave grew up an only child however things changed when he married the love of his life, Margaret (Carter) Rogers on August 20, 1970, he inherited a big family of brothers and sisters who treated him as one of their own. He and Margaret celebrated 47 years of marriage recently with Dave making the comment "it seems like 147."

To this union were born four wonderful children including three sons: Jimmy, Chad and Jason; and a daughter Cathy. Dave was a hardworking father, who spent over 20 years in the Woodland Schools, working as the Maintenance/Transportation Supervisor. He was also known as a "jack of all trades"; worked as a licensed water operator for the city of Ralston; served on the Ralston City Council in past years before resigning to serve as the Superintendent of the Water Department.

For the last several years of his life, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and often times you would see one or two tagging along beside him wherever he went. Dave was also an O.S.U. fan and enjoyed watching the football games. He was a member of the First Osage Baptist Church where he currently was serving on the Building & Grounds Committee.

Dave leaves behind his loving wife of the home, Margaret; sons: Jimmy and wife Karla Rogers of Roland, OK, Chad and companion Kristi Rogers of Ralston, OK, Jason and wife Carrie Rogers of Fairfax, OK; daughter, Cathy and husband Terry Ballard of Tonkawa, OK. Fourteen grandchildren, Mariah Rogers, Chad L. Rogers, David Rogers, Ann Dee Rogers, Peter Rogers, Shelby Rogers, Tristan Rogers, Bridget Rogers, Carter Rogers, C.J. Ballard, Brooklyn Ballard, Stormi Shouse, Nate Lockert and Reagan Lockert; three great grandchildren, Maddie Rogers, Olivia Morris and Jolee Morris; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary casket bearers are David Rogers, Rex Carter, Chad Rogers, Tristan Rogers, Carter Rogers, C. J. Ballard, Peter Rogers, Jeremy Hart and Ricky Beagle.
