Clarence J. Gabby Stevens
Clarence J. Gabby Stevens, resident of Fairfax, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at his home. He was 88 years of age.
Clarence was born October 24, 1923 in Limon, Colorado, the son of Albert F. Stevens and Ethel Van Cleave Stevens. A WWII veteran, he served his country in the United States Army from January 1944 until June 1945. He was a member of Ponca Citys American Legion Post 14 and the VFW.
He married Joan Elaine Richards on April 1, 1946 in Sedan, Kansas. He worked for Phillips Petroleum in Borger, Texas for thirtyeight years before retiring and moving to Fairfax, Oklahoma in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home grandchildren Warren Scott Burns, Christine and Kevin Armstrong, Danny and Linda Watson, Joe Bob and Heather Kinnamon, Cory and Audrey Kinnamon, Mark and Kimberly Watson, Donita Harris, Steven Been, Karrissa and Adam McNew and Shawn and Betty Watson twenty great grandchildren 15 great, great, grandchildren nieces and nephews, Robin and Ronnie Smith, Ronny Stevens, Al and Sharon Stevens, and Marion Stevens and numerous other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Sharon Stevens and Karren Sartin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the First Osage Baptist Church in Fairfax with Pastor Wayne Taylor presiding.
