Clara Crosby

Clara Ross Crosby, longtime resident of Fairfax, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. She was 88 years of age.
Clara was born March 30, 1922 in St. Joseph, Louisiana, the daughter of Matilda Jackson and Julius Ross.
Mrs. Crosby joined church at an early age. She was the fourth of seven children. She lost both of her parents at an early age and afterward assumed the responsibility of raising her youngest sister. She was the mother of eleven children. Her husband, Jimmy Crosby Sr. and son Willie preceded her in death along with all of her siblings.
She was Mother of the Church for The Sweet Home Baptist Church, where she had been an active member since 1965. The Crosby boys were very active in sports in the Fairfax School System.
Most of her earlier years were spent in Louisiana. Later she retired from the Fairfax Nursing Home after thirty plus years of service
She is survived by two daughters and eight sons.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the First Osage Baptist in Fairfax. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.
