Carole Chambers

March 17, 1949 — April 12, 2024

On April 12, 2024, the world bid farewell to a remarkable soul, Vera Carole Culver, who suddenly departed from this life at the age of 75 at her home in Humble, Texas.

Carole was born on March 17, 1949, in Fairfax, Oklahoma, as a cherished daughter of Bob R Culver and Verna S Culver. Her life unfolded as she navigated the paths of education and love with unwavering dedication.

Educated within the Fairfax School system, Carole graduated alongside the Red Devil Class of 1967. She later attained a Business degree from Draughon School of Business in Tulsa; a testament to her commitment to personal growth and excellence.

On August 16, 1969, Carole united her life with her soulmate and beloved husband, Bob Chambers, in Fairfax. Together, they built their home first in Fairfax and then later in Bartlesville before settling in Texas. Carole became employed by the City of Humble Emergency Management where she forged her professional footprint, dedicating herself tirelessly until her eyesight faltered, leading to retirement in June 2019.

Carole found boundless joy in caring for and nurturing her cherished grandchildren. Her heart swelled with pride whenever she spoke of their accomplishments and milestones—a sentiment that radiated through every conversation.

She was reunited with loved ones who had gone before her: her parents Bob & Verna; maternal grandparents Delbert & Metta Hunsaker; paternal grandparents W.P. (Bill) Culver & Wilma Jeter; and one brother Dennis R. Culver. Also, Maxine Thomas, Vera and Adolph Shotts.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 54 years Bob; daughter Michelle Bishop; son Bobby Wayde (Charlotte) Chambers; grandchildren Brooke, Blake, Brenna Bishop along with Alexis, Lily, Logan Chambers; as well as great-grandchildren Jayden, Jayde, and JJ—all hailing from Texas. Her legacy also lives on through her siblings: sister Janice (Sam) Anderson; brothers Brent Culver, Brad (Dena) Culver, sister-in-law Rosie Culver and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In honoring Carole's wishes a private family burial was held in Fairfax City Cemetery following cremation.
A memorial service open to all who shared in Carole’s life will take place at the Ralston Senior Citizen’s Building on Saturday, June 1st at 2 p.m. Pastor Mike Brock will preside over this moment of remembrance.

May our hearts be touched by memories shared and stories about Carole's life. In lieu of flowers please consider honoring Carole's spirit through a donation to The Fairfax Public Library Summer Reading Program, 158 E. Elm Street, Fairfax OK 74637.
