Bob Christenson, longtime resident of Burbank, passed unexpectedly Friday, August 16, 2013. He was 78 years of age.

Bob was born June 25, 1935 in Burbank, the son of William F. Christenson and Fern Benningfield Christenson. He grew up in Burbank where he received his education.

He entered the United States Army after graduating from Burbank High School and was stationed in Korea. After leaving the Army, Bob made a career in the trucking industry, both as a driver and dispatcher. He worked for various companies from coast to coast. He could give you directions to almost anywhere in the United States. After retiring, Bob enjoyed gardening, fishing and attending church. He often sang for special occasions at church. In recent years Bob had become an avid reader. He liked westerns and would often be reading more than one book at a time. He also liked to cook and if he wasnt cooking he was telling the cook how to do it. He was a member of the Burbank Baptist Church and the American Legion HuffMinor Post 14 in Ponca City.

He loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with them or talking with them on the telephone. He always made sure to let them know how much he loved them.

Bob is survived by Arlene Rose, his wife of 27 years one son, Bobbie Christenson of Pawhuska two daughters, Carrie Patterson of Beggs, Oklahoma, and Wendy Dunn and husband Eric, of Norwich, Kansas one brother, Gene Christenson of Springfield, Missouri and one sister, Karen Graham of Ponca City 5 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Billie Druckenmiller.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Burbank Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Wildman and Rev. Chris Cooper presiding. Burial will follow in the Burbank Cemetery under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home.

Casket bearers are Don Christenson, Norman Christenson, Duane Christenson, Rick Coffelt, Brad Grimm and Brandon Whannel. Honorary casket bearers are Brian Graham, Warren Graham and Richard Whannel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burbank Baptist Church, 109 North 1st Street, Burbank, Oklahoma 74633.
