Betty Roberts, resident of Webb City, went home to her Lord and Savior on May 25th, 2013. She was 85 years of age.
Betty was born April 12, 1928 at Whiz Bang, Oklahoma. She was raised in old Kaw City by her Mother, Etta Combs and stepfather, Marion Combs. She was married to John Paul Roberts on April 14, 1944 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple had lived in Texas, Kansas, and Colorado before retiring to Oklahoma. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting and reading. Betty was a blessing to all who met her and she will be greatly missed by all.
Her surviving relatives include, three daughters, Wanda Moon and husband Tom, of Canyon City, Colorado Regina Weaver of Webb City, and Connie Roberts of Sanger, California two sisters, Loetta Smith of Shidler and Alice Moody and husband Rev. Edward Moody of Cedar Vale, Kansas one sisterinlaw Margie Combs of Lubbock, Texas five grandchildren thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Roberts her mother and stepfather, Etta and Marion Combs five brothers, Frank Smith, Joe Smith, Merle Combs, Jim Combs and Alvin Combs and two sisters, Helen Marie Combs and Mary E. Whitson.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Grandview Cemetery, Kaw City, with her brotherinlaw, Rev. Edward Moody presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
