Bettie Louise Swearingen, longtime resident of Fairfax, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. She was 90 years of age.
Bettie was born May 5, 1923 on a farm in rural Payne County, the daughter of William Clemmons Jones and Maude Pearl Clark Jones. She attended her first 8 years of school in rural Payne County and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She married the love of her life, Bill Swearingen on March 18, 1942 in Morrison. The couple had been married 61 years at Bills passing in November of 2003. To this union was born two daughters Connie Lea and Katherine Lu.
Bettie was a homemaker, a great cook, and an accomplished seamstress, having made many of her daughters clothes. She served on the local election board for many years and also kept the books for the business of Bill and Jacks Garage. Bettie was a longtime active member of the Fairfax First Christian Church. Her enjoyments were her family, her church work, and singing in the church choir, gardening and reading.
She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Trenary and husband Frank, of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kathy Brock and husband Sonny, of Burbank four grandchildren, Kendall Trenary and wife Misti, Ryan Trenary and wife Peta, Mike Brock and wife Caryn, and Kristin Brock six great grandchildren, Nathan Brock, Abigail Brock, Benjamin Brock, Zane Brock, Mikaela Trenary and Luke Trenary one sisterinlaw, Dean Gilbert numerous other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband 2 sisters, Velaria McClure and Wilma Maxwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Fairfax First Christian Church with former Pastor George Weston presiding, assisted by current Pastor Ty Curry and grandson, Rev. Mike Brock. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.
Casket bearers are Frank Trenary, Sonny Brock, Kendall Trenary, Ryan Trenary, Mike Brock and Nathan Brock. Honorary casket bearers are L.M. Bud Trisdale, Andy Weston, Dr. James Graham, Burley Hathcoat and John Paul Martin.
