Beatrice Tallchief

Beatrice Ella Creps Tallchief, resident of Fairfax , passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Fairfax Manor Nursing Home. She was 93. Bea was born the daughter of Arthur Pierce and Lucinda King Pierce on the family farm in Silver City , Oklahoma on January 3, 1916. She married Leon Creps in Silver City , Oklahoma in 1933, and to this union two children were born. The couple moved to Little Chief, Oklahoma in 1945 and lived there for 20 years. In 1965, she moved to Fairfax , Oklahoma where she owned and operated The Beauty Box hair salon for many years. Bea loved flowers and being outdoors. She also enjoyed people and was very much a people person. She is survived by her son, Robert Creps of Arkansas City , Kansas ; grandchildren, Jon Robert Creps of Liberal, Kansas and Cindy Breshears and husband, Bruce of Cashion, Oklahoma ; and great grandchildren, Anthony Waller, Thomas Waller, Bridget Breshears and Suzie Breshears. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joann Waller; sister, Veda Pierce; and brothers, J.B. Pierce, Duke Pierce and Tom Pierce; and grandchildren, Tony Waller and Christina Creps. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2009 at Fairfax Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Taylor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home.
