Anna Mae Vanzant, longtime resident of Fairfax, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at the home of her son in Visalia, California. She was 79 years of age.
Anna was born September 18, 1932 in Mason, Oklahoma, the daughter of Isaac Williams and Rosa Lee Clowers Williams. She received her early education in the Mason Schools. She then furthered her education by receiving nurses training. She was employed 2812 years as a CNA at the Fairfax Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Church of the Firstborn and her enjoyments were reading her Bible, working crossword puzzles and her little dog Jayce.
She is survived by one son, Claude Butch Vanzant Jr. and wife, Margie, of Visalia, California two daughters, Anna Sue Evans and husband, Ray, of Lincoln, Arkansas and Mary Lee Cassady and husband, John, of Veatty, Nevada two sisters, Lafonda Sue Pruit and husband, Donald, and Bonnie Brown and husband, Clarence, all of Sapulpa, Oklahoma 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents one brother, Troy Williams three sisters, Laquita Reed, Loraine Glover and Paula Gould.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 17 2012 at the Fairfax Cemetery with Rev. Jasmul Fuller presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of the HunsakerWooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
